Construction Tips: Pattern Suggestions

Pevensies' Narnian clothes

There's a lot of overlap in what patterns can be used for what, and so for this reason patterns are grouped broadly by character. Under each individual pattern, the specific costumes are mentioned.

Sizes are given for all children's patterns

Susan's and Lucy's Narnian dresses

Lucy's Blue Dress, Susan's Green Archery Dress, Susan and Lucy's Coronation Gowns, Adult Queen Lucy, Adult Queen Susan

    Girls'/Children's Sizes

Variations of views A, B, and D work well for Susan's and Lucy's Coronation dresses (A, minus the lower sleeves, and B, respectively), Susan's Narnia dresses (D, minus the princess seam trim). Sizes 3-14.
  • McCalls 4620: Girls' witch costume, with princess seams and sleeve variations. Easily adapted to either Susan's or Lucy's Narnian dress and possibly Coronation gowns. Optional godets in the skirt for extra fullness. Sizes 3-16

  • Burda 2463: View A for Lucy's Coronation Gown.

  • Butterick 4435: Girls' pullover dress with back ties. Provides a good base for Lucy's non-princess seamed gowns, but lots of alterations neccessary. Sizes 7-16
